Engineering
20
years of continuous growth, investment in experience and the
introduction of cutting edge technology are the measures that
have enabled ISF to offer one of the most comprehensive product
ranges in its field.
Knowledge of
production processes and the ability to apply simple engineering
principles to a broad spectrum of industries has enabled the
company to gain a strong foothold in the market place. Animal
feed, pet food, oil extraction, distillery, chemical fertilisers
are the core sectors, however, the will to broaden its horizons
further has seen ISF recently manage the bulk out-loading of
chalk and the production of tile adhesives; difficult products
to handle but experience provides solutions.
The belief
that controlling all aspects of the business in-house has been
the company’s key to success, everything from the initial
feasibility study, through to commissioning is carried out by
our own engineers. ISF offer a turnkey service to its clients,
employing experienced managers and design engineers combined
with the very latest computer aided design (CAD) software, to
control every facet of a project. Careful production planning
and continual liaison with our clients ensures we not only
manufacture on time, but deliver and install to suit the
construction programme. Clients are welcome to visit during any
phase of the manufacturing process; this enables them to form
part of the design loop and for us to address any technical
issues or constraints that may arise.
ISF
has a large
manufacturing facility that houses fully trained sheet metal
workers and heavy steel fabricators. The ability to produce
bespoke products from a broad spectrum of materials is essential
for us to stay ahead of the field. Metals from mild steel to
stainless steels, aluminium to brass combined with non-metallic
materials such as glass and timber enable us to achieve high
quality fabrications. The design office is linked to the factory
floor machinery via CNC technology enabling high accuracy
cutting and forming of materials. A multitude of finishes are
offered to our clients from highly polished stainless steels to
etch prime and gloss paint all tailored to the application.
To complete
the in-house loop, fully equipped site engineers carry out all
installations, enabling strict control and ensuring health and
safety rules are adhered to at all times. ISF has an ongoing
commitment to health and safety, continuously improving its
level of competence using a network of external sources. We are
committed to both our workforce and our clients and believe
training personnel correctly is the key to a safer working
environment. All our employees have CSCS safety passport
certification, confined space training, heavy plant driving
licences and rigging and slinging qualifications these are a
basic requirement ensuring maximum flexibility across numerous
industries. Our project managers are trained to produce method
statements, risk and COSHH assessments to cover every aspect of
an installation often under CDM regime where an independent
supervisor controls the health and safety on site. ISF also
accept responsibility for the health and safety of other persons
who may be affected by our activities, we adopt a strict quality
management system which is part of our ISO 9002 accreditation.
Process
engineering has always been at the heart of ISF’s business,
however the need to diversify during the late 1990’s lead the
company into the construction industry sector where it is held
in high regard today supplying steelwork structures and
decorative fabrications to some of the largest housing
developers in the UK.
ISF
prides itself on the level of repeat business it achieves. The
portfolio of regular customers includes BOCM Pauls, British
Sugar PLC, Noble Foods, Provimi (SCA), Scotts UK, Imerys
Minerals; all having been serviced by our turnkey capabilities.
